On finite affine planes with a 2-transitive orbit on \(\ell_ \infty\) (Q1320209)

The author considers finite projective planes \(\Pi\) admitting a collineation group \(G\) fixing some flag \((P,1)\) and acting 2-transitively on \(1 \backslash \{P\}\). Under these assumptions, he proves that the order of \(\Pi\) is a prime power and that the group induced by \(G\) on \(1 \backslash \{P\}\) has a regular normal subgroup. He also severely restricts the possible structure of the stabilizer of a point of \(1 \backslash (P)\) in \(G\).
