Let \(C\) be a convex body in the Euclidean space \(E^ d\). We say that an oriented direction \(l\) in \(E^ d\) illuminates a point \(z \in bdD\), if the ray \(l_ x\) with apex \(x\) in direction \(l\) intersects \(\text{int } C\). For a direction \(u\) in \(E^ d\), the set of points of contact of \(C\) with all lines parallel to \(l\) and supporting \(C\) is named the \(u\)-belt of \(C\). Main result of the paper is Theorem. If for a convex body \(C \subset E^ d\) there is a direction \(u\) such that the \(u\)-belt of \(C\) consists of regular points, then the whole boundary of \(C\) can be illuminated by at most \(d+1\) directions.
