    \textit{J. L. Hafner} and the reviewer [J. Number Theory 32, 151-191 (1989; Zbl 0668.10045)] proved that \[ \int_ 2^ T G^ 2(t) dt= (5\pi \sqrt{2\pi})^{-1} \bigl( \sum_{n=1}^ \infty d^ 2(n) n^{-5/2} \bigr) T^{5/2}+ O(T^ 2), \qquad G(T)= \Omega_{\pm} (T^{3/4}), \] where for \(T\geq 2\) \[ G(T)= \int_ 2^ T (E(t)- \pi) dt, \qquad E(T)=\int |\zeta ({\textstyle{1\over 2}}+ \text{it})|^ 2 dt- T \log ({\textstyle {T\over {2\pi}}})- (2\gamma-1)T. \] By using their method the author proves that \[ \int_ 2^ T K^ 2(t) dt= (3\sqrt{2\pi})^{-1} \bigl( \sum_{n=1}^ \infty d^ 2(n) h^ 2(n) n^{-3/2} \bigr) T^{3/2}+ O(T), \qquad K(T)= \Omega_{\pm} (T^{1/4}). \] Here \[ h(n)= ({\textstyle{2\over\pi}})^{1/2} \int_ 0^ \infty (y+n\pi)^{-1/2} \cos (y+ {\textstyle{\pi\over 4}}) dy\ll n^{-1/2} \] and for \(T\geq 2\) \[ K(T)= \int_ 0^ T \chi ({\textstyle{1\over 2}}- \text{it}) R({\textstyle {1\over 2}}+ \text{it}; {\textstyle{t\over {2\pi}}})dt- (3\sqrt{\pi})^{-1} T^{1/2} (\log ({\textstyle{{T\over {2\pi}}}})+ 2\gamma +4), \] \[ \chi(s)= 2^ s \pi^{2-1} \sin ({\textstyle{{{\pi s} \over 2}}}) \Gamma(1-s), \] \[ R( s; {\textstyle{{t\over {2\pi}}}})= \zeta^ 2(s)- \mathop{{\sum}'}_{n\leq t/2\pi} d(n) n^{-s}- \chi^ 2(s) \mathop{{\sum}'}_{n\leq t/2\pi} d(n) n^{s-1}. \] Power moments of \(R({1\over2}+ \text{it}; t/2\pi)\) were recently investigated by the author [Publ. Inst. Math., Nouv. Sér. 52, 10-12 (1992; Zbl 0793.11021)] and the reviewer [Acta Arith. 65, 137-145 (1993; Zbl 0781.11034)].
