\textit{Z. Nehari} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 21, 405-420 (1968; Zbl 0182.384)] discovered a converse of the Hölder inequality valid for nonnegative concave functions. However, the proof of this important inequality was not complete. This paper offers a new and correct proof and removes the gaps of the original paper.
