    Let \(S(z)\) be a \(m\times m\) matrix valued analytic function defined in the half disk \(D_ += \{z\in\mathbb{C}\); \(| z|<1\), \(\text{Im}(z)>0\}\), such that the kernel: \[ {I- S(z)S(w)^*\over 1- zw^*}+ {S(z)- S(w)^*\over z- w^*} \] is non-negative definite. The paper under review focuses on the interpolation problem: \[ S(z_ i) a_ i= c_ i,\;S(z_ i)^* b_ i= d_ i,\;\langle S'(z_ i)a_ i, b_ i\rangle= \gamma_ i, \] where the points \(z_ i\in D_ +\), \(\gamma_ i\in\mathbb{C}\) and the vectors \(a_ i\), \(b_ i\), \(c_ i\in \mathbb{C}^ m\) are given \((1\leq i\leq n)\). The analysis of this generalized Nevanlinna-Pick problem is put in the (by now familiar) context of extensions of positive definite matrices and linearization of matrix- valued rational functions. As expected, the solvability of this interpolation problem is equivalent to the positivity of a kernel constructed with its data.
