Let \(D\) be open in an \(n\)-dimensional complex manifold \(X\), \(E:=X \backslash D\); \(D\) is pseudoconvex of order \(k\) in \(X\) if for every \(b \in E\) and coordinate neighborhood \((U,(z_ 1, \dots,z_ n))\) for \(b=(0, \dots,0)\), if the set \(\{(z_ 1, \dots, z_ n) \in U\); \(z_ i=0\) \((1 \leq i \leq k)\), \(0<\sum_{j>k} | z_ j |^ 2<r\}\) contains no point of \(E\) for some \(r>0\), then there is \(s>0\) such that for every \((z'_ 1,\dots,z'_ k)\) with \(| z_ i |<s\), \(1 \leq i \leq k\), the set \(\{(z_ 1,\dots,z_ n) \in U\); \(z_ i = z_ i'\) \((1 \leq i \leq k)\), \(\sum_{j>k} | z_ j |^ 2<r\}\) intersects \(E\). Main Theorem: Let \(D\) be a pseudoconvex open set of order \(n-q\) of \({\mathbf P}^ n\) and \({\mathbf d}\) the Fubini distance from \(\partial D\); then \(-\log ({\mathbf d})\) is \((q-1)\)-plurisubharmonic in \(D\) and strongly \(q\)-convex in any open subset in which \({\mathbf d}\) is of class \(C^ 2\). The method of proof is one of \textit{A. Takeuchi} in J. Math. Soc. Jap. 16, 159-181 (1964; Zbl 0141.088) (but correcting a mistake in the proof of the reference).
