The author considers the problem (P) \(f(t,x,x',x'')= 0\), \(x(a)= x(b)= 0\), where \(f\) is a real function defined on \([a,b]\times \mathbb{R}^ n\times \mathbb{R}^ n\times Y\), \([a,b]\) is a compact real interval with the Lebesgue measure structure, \(Y\) is a non-empty closed connected and locally connected subset of \(\mathbb{R}^ n\). He proves the existence of either a generalized solution \(u\in W^{2,\infty}([a,b],\mathbb{R}^ n)\) or a classical solution \(u\in C^ 2([a,b],\mathbb{R}^ n)\) for problem (P). The methods of proofs are based on the set-valued analysis theory and follow those introduced in the paper by \textit{B. Ricceri} [Glasg. Math. J. 33, 343-348 (1991)].
