The paper contains two parts. In the first one the author considers the following Cauchy problem: \(dy/dt+ A_ h(t)y= f_ h(t)\) for \(0< t\leq T\), \(y(0)= y_{0h}\), where \(A_ h(t): E_ h\to E_ h\) are linear bounded operators in a given family of Banach spaces \(E_ h\), \(f_ h: [0,T]\to E_ h\) are given functions, \(h\in H\) being a parameter. On a non-uniform (in \(t\)) grid the above problem is replaced by a rather general two-layer difference scheme. Under some assumptions on the operators \(A_ h\) (independence of \(t\), uniform semipositiveness and so on) and on the grid the author proves a priori inequalities in norms of a scale of spaces \(E_ h\) for the solutions of unique canonical representations of general difference schemes giving in this way sufficient conditions for the well- posedness of this one. The second part of the paper is devoted to an application of earlier abstract considerations. In the unit cube \([0,1]^ n\) the author considers the differential operator \[ \sum^ n_{i=1} [-a_ i(x)\partial^ 2/\partial x^ 2_ i+ b_ i(x)\partial/\partial x_ i+ c(x)] \] with boundary conditions of the third kind on the boundary of the cube. Under some regularity assumptions on the functions \(a_ i\), \(b_ i\), \(c\) he obtains existence of the unique solution to a difference scheme in a scale of Banach spaces \(L_{ph}\), \(1\leq p\leq\infty\) (discrete analogues of the spaces \(L_ p\)) and a priori estimates as well.
