The paper examines the problem of the separation at a pre-compressed, pre-fractured, bi-material elastic geological interface, namely the specific situation where the separation is induced by a rigid disc shaped propping region of finite thickness. The integral equations associated with the mathematical modelling of the problem are simplified by introducing additional constraints on the axial displacements beyond the separation zone.
