    Let \({a_ 0\over 2}+ \sum^ \infty_{k= 1} (a_ k \cos kx+ b_ k\sin kx)\) be the Fourier series of \(f\) and let \[ \omega_ s(f, \delta)={1\over 2\pi}\max_{0\leq h\leq\delta} \int^ \pi_{-\pi} \left|\Delta^ s_ h f\left(x- {sh\over 2}\right)\right| dx \] with \(\Delta^ s_ h f(x)= \sum^ s_{i= 0} (-1)^ i (\begin{smallmatrix} s\\ i\end{smallmatrix}) f(x+ ih)\). For \(d= (d_ k)\) a given sequence of reals put \[ U_ n(d, s)= \max\left\{\left| \sum^ m_{k= \ell} \left({k\over s}\right)^ s {d_ k\over k}\right|: m\geq n,\;1\leq \ell\leq m\right\}. \] \[ V_ n(d)= \max\left\{\left| \sum^ M_{k= m} {d_ k\over k}\right|: n< m\leq M\right\}. \] The author proves the estimation: \[ \omega_ s(f, 1/n)\geq c_ s(U_ n (a, s_ 1)+ U_ n(b, s_ 2)+ V_ n(b)), \] where \(s_ 1= s\) if \(s\) is odd, \(s_ 1= s+ 1\) if \(s\) is even, \(s_ 2= s\) if \(s\) is even and \(s_ 2= s+ 1\) if \(s\) is odd, \(a= (a_ k)\), \(b= (b_ k)\) and \(c_ s\) depends only on \(s\).
