We consider the propagation of small-amplitude harmonic waves along a cylindrical cavity in an incompressible medium with an inhomogeneous stress-strain state caused by an isotropic, radial tensile stress given at infinity. Investigations are carried out in Lagrangian coordinates, in which the undeformed state coincide with Cartesian coordinates. The fundamental relations are obtained with the use of the equations of three-dimensional, linearized elasticity theory for finite initial deformations. Numerical results were presented for a medium made of a neo-Hookean material with the use of the variational principle of the theory of wave propagation in bodies with initial stresses.
