Pressure of a rigid stamp with a flat base heated to a constant temperature on an elastic half-space (Q1326147)

We present an effective method for the solution of axially symmetric contact problems of thermoelasticity in which we take into account incomplete contact, thereby making it possible to generalize Barber's studies [\textit{J. R. Barber}, Q. J. Mech. Appl. Math. 35, 141-154 (1982; Zbl 0485.73095)] to both heated and cooled stamps. In particular, exterior to the stamp we take into account heat exchange with the external medium in accordance with Newton's law, and, in the zone of the stamp non-ideal heat exchange is realized on portions with complete contact; in the separation zone it is realized with different coefficients of thermal resistance.
