This article examines the title problem for shells of moderate length in which the form of the generatrix of the middle surface is a paraboloid of revolution. We use the theory of hollow shells to obtain a stability equation in the presence of an additional term which can be of the same order as the other terms of the equation. We will consider shells of both positive and negative Gaussian curvature.
