A stability test for real polynomials (Q1326435)

A relation between the winding number of a polynomial \(\Sigma_ \nu a_ \nu z^ \nu\) with respect to the unit circle and the zeros of the polynomials \(\Sigma_ \nu a_ \nu T_ \nu(x)\), \(\Sigma_ \nu a_{\nu + 1} U_ \nu(x)\) is established. Now Sturm sequence techniques lead to a simple stability test for the original polynomial.
