Functions \(f(z)= z+\cdots\) that are analytic in the unit disk and satisfy there the inequality \(\text{Re}(f'(z)+ zf''(z))> 0\) are known to be univalent. We investigate associated functions \(\widetilde f(z)= z+ \sum^ \infty_{k=2} a_{n_ k} z^{n_ k}\) formed by choosing subsequences \(\{n_ k\}\) of \(\{n\}\). We determine the largest disk \(| z|< r_ 0\) in which we are guaranteed that \(\widetilde f\) is univalent and close-to-convex.
