A circular array of sensors has several properties as compared to those of an equivalent linear array, namely, (1) there is no left right ambiguity; (2) the resolution capability remain independent of the bearing; (3) it can measure without ambiguity the direction of arrival (DOA) of a broad signal without the use of any taps delay elements; (4) inter sensors spacing meet not \(\leq \lambda_{\min}/2\). The last two properties are proved in this paper. That the inter sensor spacing need to be \(\leq\lambda_{\min}/2\) leads to a large aperture circular array without increasing the number sensors. With the help a few examples the authors demonstrate that such a large aperture circular array has a better resolution.
