A generalization of Macdonald identities for Dedekind's \(\eta\)-function is obtained, connected with complex simple finite dimensional Lie algebras of type \(A_ l\) and \(B_ l\). The formulas for the generating function of Ramanujan's functions are obtained as consequences.
