This note continues the study of the so-called MD-groups begun by \textit{J. C. Lennox} and \textit{J. Wiegold} in Part I [ibid. 89, 83-86 (1993; Zbl 0802.20026)]. An MD-group is a group \(G\) satisfying the property that \(N_ G(H) / C_ G(H) \cong \text{Aut}(H)\) for every subgroup \(H\) of \(G\). The authors prove the following two main results: Theorem 1. An infinite radical MD-group is metabelian. Theorem 2. A periodic MD-group is finite. As a direct consequence of Theorem 1, it follows that an infinite locally soluble MD-group is metabelian. The proof of Theorem 2 proceeds by showing first that every finite subgroup of a periodic MD-group has order at most six and then M. Hall Jr.'s result on the Burnside problem for exponent six is applied to derive the final conclusion that the group is finite.
