On the control of a net of strings (Q1332972)

Approximate boundary controllability for linear hyperbolic type distributed parameter dynamical systems is considered. Using the Fourier method many sufficient and necessary conditions for approximate boundary controllability in finite time are formulated and proved. Moreover, several remarks and comments on the results existing in the literature concerning approximate boundary controllability are given. Similar controllability problems have been recently considered in the monograph [\textit{A. Bensoussan}, \textit{G. da Prato}, \textit{M. C. Delfour} and \textit{S. K.
