The authors defined the \(D_ 1\)-integral by replacing the continuity of the primitive in the definition of the general Denjoy integral by \(D_ 1\)-continuity. A function \(F\) is \(D_ 1\)-continuous at \(c\) if it is the approximate derivative at \(c\) of its indefinite general Denjoy integral. The usual properties of the nonabsolute integrals hold true for the \(D_ 1\)-integral, including integration-by-parts, the Cauchy and Harnack properties. For some terminologies, see the reviewer [Lanzhou lectures on Henstock integration (1989; Zbl 0699.26004)]. Convergence theorems for the \(D_ 1\)-integral appeared in Real Anal. Exch. 19, No. 2, 433-456 (1994; following review).
