Partial orders in semigroups and semirings of right quotients (Q1333178)

Let \((\Sigma,\cdot)\) be a subsemigroup of a semigroup \((S,\cdot)\). By \((T,\cdot)\) we denote the semigroup of right quotients of \((S,\cdot)\) with respect to \((\Sigma,\cdot)\) if it exists. In this paper the author gives necessary and sufficient conditions (say (*)) for the uniquely determined existence of a strict extension \(\leq^ T\) of a partial order \(\leq^ S\) on \((S,\cdot)\) (Theorem 4.1). Further there are given sufficient conditions to get an internal extension \(\leq'\) of an arbitrary partial order \(\leq\) on \((S,\cdot)\) such that (*) are satisfied (Theorem 4.4). Finally applying these results to the semiring case, the author obtains corresponding results in Theorem 5.1 and 5.2.
