This paper continues an early development in a preceding companion paper by the authors [ibid., No. 1, 53-65 (1994; Zbl 0826.53053)]. The framework as well as the results of the first paper have been used to study stability properties for a class of uncertain polynomials whose coefficients are affine functions of real and/or complex uncertainties. The structured singular value is shown to provide a suitable unified framework for a wide class of problems. Structured singular value stability tests are derived for several problems of interest, extending or coinciding with previously available results. Connections are established between these tests and the results in the spirit of the Kharitonov theorem for the Hurwitz stability of interval and diamond polynomials. The paper seems mathematically sound, is well written and I did not discover any obvious errors. It discusses the very interesting connection between stability conditions based upon the structured singular value and those in terms of extremal polynomials in the spirit of Kharitonov's theorem.
