An interval arithmetic domain decomposition method for linear systems with interval coefficients is presented. The systems to be considered occur from difference methods for a class of semilinear elliptic boundary value problems on nonrectangular domains. The importance of the method consists in its application in globally convergent Newton-like methods for nonlinear problems. The arithmetic complexity of the method is discussed. Several numerical examples which provide illustrations of the capabilities and limitations of the method are given.
