The paper is concerned with iterative methods of parallel Gauss-Seidel type for solving large systems of nonlinear algebraic equations of the form (1) \(A\Phi(x)+ B\Psi(x)= b\). Such an asynchronous iterative method, based on a corresponding multisplitting of the pair of matrices \((A,B)\) is described. It is shown that under certain properties of the considered multisplitting, the method converges to the unique solution of (1). No examples are given.
