The culture of the philosophy of mathematics has been started era long and at the same time the occident has included the same as one of the subjects in the syllabus of the mathematics education for a long period and that have greatly influenced the science of mathematics. As a matter of consequence so many mathematicians as well as educationists have been writing books in this subject which has brought a new dimension in the matter of the study of mathematics. The author of this book, I conceive, by maintaining satisfactorily his responsibility towards his object has become a man of deep regard of all of us. In this book the author tries to develop a meaning of `Critical mathematics education' and after this he prepares the ground for a philosophy of critical mathematics. For this purpose the author divides this book into eleven chapters viz. (i) Critique and education, (ii) Democracy and education, (iii) Mathematics -- a formatting power? (iv) A thematic approach in mathematics education, (v) Golfparken and constructions, (vi) Reflective knowing, (vii) Family support in a micro-society. (viii) Our community, (ix) Energy, (x) Intentionality, (xi) Knowing. An epilogue. Each chapter is well written and helpful to those who are going to research on philosophy of mathematics education.
