    Summary: We study the existence of solutions of the following nonlinear hyperbolic system \[ u'' + A(t)u + b(x)G(u) = f \quad \text{in } Q, \quad u = 0 \text{ on } \Sigma, \quad u(0) = u^ 0,\;u'(0) = u^ 1, \] where \(Q\) is a noncylindrical domain of \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) with lateral boundary \(\Sigma\), \(u = (u_ 1, u_ 2)\) a vector defined on \(Q\), \(\{A(t),0 \leq t < + \infty\}\) is a family of operators in \({\mathcal L} (H^ 1_ 0 (\Omega),\;H^{-1} (\Omega))\), where \(A(t)u = (A(t)u_ 1,\;A(t) u_ 2)\) and \(G:\mathbb{R}^ 2 \to \mathbb{R}^ 2\) is a continuous function such that \(xG(x) \geq 0\), for \(x \in \mathbb{R}^ 2\). Moreover, we obtain that the solutions of the above system with dissipative term \(u'\) have exponential decay.
