It is shown that the result of \textit{H.-K. Xu} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 167, No. 2, 582-587 (1992; Zbl 0776.47042)], dealing with an Ishikawa-type iteration for a map \(T\) satisfying Ćirić's definition can be extended to a wider class of maps.
