[For part I, see ibid. 111, No. 2, 261-278 (1992; Zbl 0762.92021).] The Droop equations describe the growth of microorganisms in a chemostat. In this setting the growth rate of the organism is limited by the availability of a single nutrient. The state variables of the Droop system are biomass density, and intracellular and extracellular nutrient concentration. The autors characterize the uptake and growth functions in qualitative terms and obtain global asymptotic stability.
