Let \(A\) be a complex Banach algebra. We write \(\text{rad}(A)\) for the radical of \(A\), \(Q(A)\) for the set of all quasinilpotent elements in \(A\) and \([x, y]\) the commutator \(xy- yx\) of \(x, y\in A\). In this paper, the author has proved the following result: Let \(d\) be a bounded derivation of a Banach algebra \(A\). Suppose that \([d(x), x]\in Q(A)\) for every \(x\in A\). Then \(d(A)\subseteq \text{rad}(A)\). This improves a result of part I by the author and \textit{J. Vukman} [Arch. Math. 59, No. 4, 363-370 (1992; Zbl 0807.46049)], which states that: If \(d\) is a bounded derivation and \([d(x), x]^2\in \text{rad}(A)\) for all \(x\in A\), then \(d(A)\subseteq \text{rad}(A)\). The author also points out that, if \(d\) is an unbounded derivation, the result of this paper is equivalent to the so-called noncommutative Singer-Wermer conjecture.
