The author describes classical and new methods for accelerating the convergence of a sequence of scalars and of a sequence of vectors. The vector epsilon algorithm and vector-valued Padé approximation are the essential means to obtain the acceleration in question. The progress over the last decade with vector Padé approximation in \textit{J. Van Iseghem's} version [ibid. 2, 143-155 (1986; Zbl 0621.65006)] is reviewed in details.
