Sind \(A_ 1,A_ 2,\dots,A_ h\) \((h\in\mathbb{N})\) Teilmengen einer endlichen Gruppe \(G\), dann ist das Produkt dieser Teilmengen definiert als \(A_ 1A_ 2 \dots A_ h = \{a_ 1 a_ 2 \dots a_ h \mid a_ i \in A_ i; 1 \leq i \leq h\}\). Im Fall \(A_ 1= A_ 2 = \cdots = A_ h = A\) wird \(A_ 1A_ 2 \dots A_ h = A^ h\) gesetzt. Eine Teilmenge \(A \subseteq G\) heißt \(h\)-Basis von \(G\), wenn \(A^ h = G\) gilt; die Teilmengen \(A_ 1\), \(A_ 2, \dots, A_ h \subseteq G\) bilden eine \(h\)- Zerlegung von \(G\), wenn \(A_ 1A_ 2 \dots A_ h = G\) ist. Dann wird u.a. gezeigt (Theorem 2): Ist jeder Faktor einer Zerlegung von \(G\) entweder zyklisch oder isomorph zur alternierenden Gruppe vom Grad \(n\), dann gibt es für jedes \(h \in \mathbb{N}\) eine Basis \(A\) von \(G\) mit \(| A | \leq (2h - 1) | G |^{1/h}.\)
