The paper deals with solutions \(u \in H^{1,p}_ 0 (\Omega)\) of the PDE \[ \text{div} \bigl( | \nabla u |^{p-2} \nabla u \bigr) = | u |^{p^*-2}u + \lambda | u |^{q-2} u + f(x) \] assuming that \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^ n\) is a bounded domain, \(1<p<n\), \(1<q<p^* = np/(n-p)\), \(f \in L^{(p^*)'}\). These functions are critical points of the functional \[ {1 \over p} \int_ \Omega | \nabla u |^ p dx - {1 \over p^*} \int_ \Omega | u |^{p^*} dx-{\lambda \over q} \int_ \Omega | u |^ q\;dx - \int_ \Omega fu dx. \] The main results of the paper are: (i) the existence of a solution obtained by a local minimization method near zero assuming \(\| f \|_{p'}\) small and assuming also \(\lambda > 0\) large or \(\Omega\) small if \(q \leq p\); (ii) the existence of a second solution obtained by the mountain pass-theorem and the concentration-compactness principle for \(q>p\), \(\lambda > 0\) large and \(\| f \|_{p'}\) small.
