\textit{H. W. Gould} and \textit{L. C. Hsu} [Duke Math. J. 40, 885-891 (1973; Zbl 0281.05008)]\ found a very interesting consequence of the fact that the \(n\)-th difference of a polynomial of degree less than \(n\) is zero. They state this as a series and its inverse. In the present paper, an extension of the Gould-Hsu relation is given. This is proven by an appropriate decomposition and cancellation. To show the strength of this pair, the author takes special cases of known series summations and inverts them. Some strange identities found by other methods arise, and some new identities are discovered. Many of these are very well poised \({}_7 F_6\)s which are not 2-balanced.
