This paper contains a new proof of a lemma established first by \textit{Y. D. Burtin} [J. Appl. Probab. 17, 403-414 (1980; Zbl 0436.60015)]. It is related to a general model of a random graph. Then, the author simplifies in some sense the proofs of some reviewer's results about the random mapping model with an attracting center [ibid. 24, 258-264 (1987; Zbl 0617.05057)].
