Complete projective tensor product of (LB)-spaces (Q1345864)

The aim of the article is to investigate when the completion of the projective tensor product of two complete (LB)-spaces coincides algebraically (and hence topologically) with the inductive limit of the complete projective tensor product of the Banach spaces which constitute the steps of the (LB)-spaces. We present an example of a complete (LB)-space \(E= \text{ind}_ n E_ n\) and of a Banach space \(X\) such that \(\text{ind}_ n (E_ n \widetilde {\otimes}_ \pi X)\) is a proper subspace of \(E\widetilde {\otimes}_ \pi X\). Sufficient conditions for the equality of the complete projective tensor products of two (LB)-spaces with the inductive limit of the complete projective tensor product of the Banach spaces which constitute the steps are also included. These results are applied to the study of the coincidence of projective and injective topologies on the tensor product of coechelon spaces.
