The paper refers to the Dirichlet problem for the fourth-order linear hyperbolic equation \[ \begin{aligned} & {\partial^4u \over\partial x^2\partial y^2}= p_0(x,y)u+p_1(y) {\partial^2u\over\partial x^2}+p_2(x) {\partial^2u \over \partial y^2}+q(x,y)\\ & u(x,y)\Bigl|_{(x,y) \in\partial\Omega-Y_\Omega}=0,\;{\partial^2u(x,y) \over \partial x^2}\Bigr|_{(x,y) \in\partial\Omega-Y_\Omega}= 0,\text{ or }\\ & u(x,y)\Bigl|_{(x,y)\in \partial\Omega-X_\Omega} =0,\;{\partial^2u(x,y)\over \partial y^2}\Bigr|_{(x,y) \in\partial \Omega-X_\Omega}=0, \end{aligned} \] where \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^2\), and \(X_\Omega, Y_\Omega\) are certain sets of boundary points of \(\Omega\). Sufficient conditions for the unique solvability of the solution are shown. The basic condition to be fulfilled is that the equations \({d^2z\over dy^2}=p_1(y)z\) and \({d^2z\over dx^2} =p_2(x)z\) have to be disconjugate on specific intervals.
