This article deals with the following approximations \[ x_{n+1}= a_nx_n+b_n T^ny_n+c_nu_n, \quad y_n=a_n'x_n +b_n'T^nx_n+ c_n'v_n\quad (n=1,2, \dots) \] where \(T:K\to K\) is a completely continuous, uniformly \(L\)-Lipschitzian and asymptotically hemicontractive map with sequence \(\{k_n\}\), \(K\) is a nonempty closed convex and bounded subset of a real \(p\)-uniformly convex Banach space \(E\) \((T\) is an asymptotically hemicontractive map with sequence \(\{k_n\}\) if \(\langle T^nx-T^ny,\zeta \rangle\leq k_n^p\|x-y|^p\) for some \(\zeta\in J_p(x-y))\). It is assumed that \(a_n,b_n,c_n, a_n',b_n',c_n'\) are real sequences in \([0,1]\) satisfying the following conditions: (i) \(a_n+b_n+c_n= a_n'+b_n'+ c_n'=1\) \((n=1,2,\dots)\); (ii) \(\sum c_n<\infty\), \(\sum c_n' <\infty\); (iii) \(0< \varepsilon\leq 1-ds(1-b_n-c_n) 2^{-(p-2)}\leq b_n'+ c_n'\leq b(n=1,2, \dots)\) for some \(\varepsilon >0\) and \(b\in(0, \gamma_p)\), where \(\gamma_p\) is the unique solution of the equation \[ L^px^p-d(1+s) (1-x)2^{-(p-2)}+ 1=0 \] on \((0,\infty)\), \(\{u_n\}\) and \(\{v_n\}\) are arbitrary sequences in \(K\). Under these conditions, it is proved that \(\{x_n\}\) converges strongly to a fixed point of \(T\).
