All considered functions are real-valued functions defined on a convex open subset \(\Delta\) of the \(n\)-dimensional Euclidean space \(\mathbb{R}^n\). A set \(S\subset\Delta\) is a stationary set for a class \(K\) of functions \(\Delta\to\mathbb{R}\) if the conditions \(f\in K\) and \(f(x)= 0\) for each \(x\in S\) imply \(f(x)= 0\) for each \(x\in\Delta\). A function \(f\) is Jensen convex if, for each \(x\in\Delta\), \(y\in\Delta\), \(f((x+ y)/2)\leq (f(x)+ f(y))/2\). The (usual) convex hull of \(B\) is denoted by \(\text{conv}(B)\). By \(A^-\) we denote the closure of the set \(A\subset\Delta\) in the relative topology of \(\Delta\subset\mathbb{R}^n\). A set \(T\) belongs to the class \(C\) if each Jensen convex function \(\Delta\to\mathbb{R}\), where \(T\subset\Delta\subset \mathbb{R}^n\), bounded above on \(T\) is continuous on \(\Delta\). The main result states that \(T\) is a stationary set for the class of Jensen convex functions if and only if \(T\in C\) and \((\text{conv}(T))^-= \Delta\). For the subclass of additive functions, \(T\subset \mathbb{R}^n\) is stationary if and only if it contains a Hamel basis. The set \(E\subset\Delta\) is a determining set for a class \(K\) of functions if the conditions \(f,g\in K\) and \(f(x)= g(x)\) for each \(x\in E\) imply \(f=g\). The characterization of the determining sets for the class of Jensen convex functions is an open problem.
