The authors analyse in a systematic way a class of iterative Krylov subspace methods for numerical solution of large sparse nonsingular systems of linear equations. They essentially emphasize on the classes of orthogonal residual and minimal residual methods, introduced by \textit{R. Weiß} in his Ph.D. thesis [Convergence behavior of generalized conjugate gradient methods (1990; Zbl 0738.90074)], by considering less general, but more specific arguments (as some special geometric properties) and few deeper connections between orthogonal and minimal residual algorithms.
