    The authors study the singularly perturbed wave equation \[ \varepsilon u_{tt} - \Delta u +\lambda u =f(x,t)\;\text{on} \Omega\times(0,T),\quad u=0\;\text{on} \Gamma_0,\quad u_t+\partial u/\partial\vec n = g(x,t)\;\text{on} \Gamma_1, \] where \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n\) is a regular open connected set, \(\Gamma_0\cup\Gamma_1\) is a partition of the boundary \(\partial\Omega\), and \(0<\varepsilon\ll 1\) is a small parameter. The main purpose of this paper is to study well-possedness of (1) and the converegnce of solutions of (1), as \(\varepsilon\to 0^+\), to solutions of the reduced problem \(-\Delta u +\lambda u =f(x,t)\), satisfying the Dirichlet b.c. on \(\Gamma_0\) and the same dynamic b.c. \(u_t+\partial u/\partial\vec n = g(x,t)\) on \(\Gamma_1\).
