Some qualitative properties of a system arising in combustion theory are studied. The considered system is \[ T_t= \beta\Delta Y_2+ \delta\Delta T+Q_1Y_1 f_1(T)+ Q_2Y_2f_2(T), \] \[ Y_{1t}= \lambda\Delta Y_1-Y_1f_1(T),\;Y_{2t}=\alpha\Delta Y_2+ Y_1f_1(T)- Y_2f_2(T)\quad\text{in }\Omega\times(0,\infty), \] where \(\Omega\) is a smooth bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), \(T\) represents the temperature, \(Y_1\), \(Y_2\) are the concentrations of the reactants, \(\alpha\), \(\beta\), \(\delta\), \(\lambda\), \(Q_1\), \(Q_2\) are constants, \(\alpha>0\), \(\beta\geq 0\), \(\delta>0\), \(\lambda>0\), \(Q_1,Q_2>0\), \(\alpha>\delta\), \(\beta\leq Q_1(\alpha-\delta)\), and \(f_k\) are functions of the form \(f_k(T)= B_k\exp(-E_k/RT)\), where \(B_k\), \(E_k\), and \(R\) are positive constants. The initial values are supposed to be nonzero, bounded, and uniformly continuous functions, and homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions resp. non-homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions with nonnegative measurable boundary values are considered. It is proved that, under some conditions, \(Y_1\) and \(Y_2\) decay to zero exponentially, and \(T\) remains uniformly bounded.
