With a few exceptions the possible combinations of rational double points in the fibre of a deformation of one of the fourteen exceptional hypersurface triangle singularities can be obtained with the author's moves on Coxeter-Dynkin diagrams. After an explanation of these so-called elementary transformations and Lie transformations follows an outline of the proof. It is based on Looijenga's description of the deformation theory of the triangle singularities using \(K3\)-surfaces [\textit{E. Looijenga}, Math. Ann. 269, 357-387 (1984; Zbl 0568.14003)]. The author notes that a weak point of the proof is the extensive case-by-case checking needed. A thorough study of the adjacencies of the triangle singularities was made by \textit{F.-J. Bilitewski} [Deformationen von Dreiecks- und Viereckssingularitäten der Einbettungsdimension drei. Bonner Mathematische Schriften. 237. Bonn: Univ. Bonn, 201 S. (1992; Zbl 0839.32016)].
