A theory of the viscoplasticity based on overstress is considered. The authors introduce two growth laws for the equilibrium stress that differ in the directions of the dynamic recovery terms. The two versions use the same material constants and are applied in numerical examples to proportional and nonproportional loadings. Significant differences in the responses to nonproportional loadings are found.
