On a numerical method for solving a certain inverse problem for a hyperbolic equation (Q1358051)

The paper deals with a 2D inverse problem, involving a wave equation with unknown linear source term. This problem is reformulated in terms of a system of 3 integro-differential equations, which is shown to be locally solvable provided that the data are analytic in the space variable. This system is approximated by means of truncated Fourier series in one space direction and of difference schemes in the other space direction and time. Some estimates on the approximate solution and the error are provided.
