The problem analyzed is the possibility to avoid or to reduce the pressure jump on a wing in a transonic flow, which produces an increase in the drag coefficient. In some earlier papers the perforation of the wing in the jump point was proposed, and measurements and calculations were made in this case. Recently an another procedure was devised to this end, namely to cover a cavity in the jump zone by a permeable surface. Then the pressure drop in the jump zone generates a counterflow around the wing which diminishes the wave resistance. In a previous paper quoted in the bibliography, the authors gave an algorithm for the numerical solution of the problem. Now they reconsider this algorithm from an another point of view, using a conformal mapping of the exterior of the wing onto the domain \([0,\infty]\times [0,2\pi]\). This simplifies the formulation of the boundary value problem which allows to calculate the variation of the wave resistance with the Mach number and with the permeability coefficient, the variation of the pressure on the profile with the permeability coefficient, the variation of the lifting force with the Mach number and with the permeability coefficient, and the variation of transonic regions on various profiles. The results of the calculation are presented in four diagrams and in a table.
