A map \({\mathcal M}\) is an embedding of a graph \({\mathcal G}\) in a surface \(S\), such that the components of the complement of \({\mathcal M}\) are each homeomorphic to an open disk. \textit{G. A. Jones} and \textit{D. Singerman} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 37, 273-307 (1978; Zbl 0391.05024)] showed that if \({\mathcal M}\) is a map on a compact orientable surface \(S\) then underlying \(S\) there is a natural complex structure determined by \({\mathcal M}\) making \(S\) into a Riemann surface. In this paper the authors think about regular maps and inquire about the Weierstrass points on the underlying Riemann surface. First, they proved: Theorem. The underlying Riemann surface of a regular map with abelian automorphism group is hyperelliptic and the Weierstrass points of the surface are all geometric with respect to the map. Then, they look at the regular maps of genera 2,3,4 and 5, precisely.
