The sequel of the previous article [the authors, part I, ibid., 632-646 (1997; Zbl 0881.34071)]. The authors present some results on relations between properties of a closed linear operator \(A\) in a Banach space \(X\) as a generator of \(C\)-cosine function and the solvability properties of abstract Cauchy problems \[ u''(t)= Au(t)\quad (t\in\mathbb{R}), \qquad u(0)= Cx,\quad u'(0)=Cy, \] where \(C\) is a bounded linear injection on a Banach space \(X\) which commutes with \(A\), and, furthermore, under some natural additional conditions, the abstract Cauchy problems \[ v''(t)= Av(t)+ C(x+ty) +\int^t_0 Cg(r)dr \quad (t\in\mathbb{R}), \qquad v(0)=v'(0)=0 \] and \[ w''(t)= Aw(t)+ Cg(t) \quad (t\in\mathbb{R}), \qquad w(0)=Cx,\quad w'(0)=Cy. \] Finally, as applications, the authors show that for any bounded operator \(B\) (commuting with \(C\) and satisfying range \(B\subseteq\) range \(C)\) the operator \(A+B\) is also a generator.
