[For Part I, see the review Zbl 0889.17007 above.] The authors study level \(m + 1\) integrable \(U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(2))\)-modules \(\otimes^{m+1}F\) by using the Frenkel-Jing construction of the sum \(F\) of two fundamental \(U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(2))\)-modules, and Drinfeld's closed formulas for comultiplication in terms of quantum current operators. The authors prove that for any level \(m + 1\) integrable module \(x^{\pm m}(z)\) are vertex operators satisfying certain \(q\)-difference equations, where \(x^{+m}(z)\) defined as \(x^{+}(z)x^{+}(zq^{2})\cdots x^{+}(zq^{2m})\) corresponds to the vertex operator \(e(z)^{m+1}\) in the classical case, and \(x^{-m}(z)\) corresponds to \(f(z)^{m+1}\). By following the line of work of \textit{J. Lepowsky} and \textit{R. L. Wilson} in the classical case [The structure of standard modules, I: Universal algebras and the Rogers-Ramanujan identities, Invent. Math. 77, 199-290 (1984; Zbl 0577.17009), II: The case \(A_1^{(1)}\), principal gradation, Invent. Math. 79, 417-442 (1985; Zbl 0577.17010)], the authors derive the quantum parafermions \(\phi^{m,k}(z)\), \(k=0,\dots,m-1\), on the \(U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(2))\)-module \(\otimes^{m+1}F\) such that \( x^{+}(z)x^{+}(zq^{2})\cdots x^{+}(zq^{2k})= V_k^+(z)\phi^{m,k}(z), \) where \(\phi^{m,k}(z)\) commute with the ``Heisenberg currents'' \(\varphi(z)\) and \(\psi(z)\), and \(V_k^+(z)\) are vertex operators. An analogous construction is given for currents \(x^{-}(z)\). The authors also give the commutation relations between these quantum parafermions.
