The paper concerns the impedance tomography problem of identifying a distributed diffusion coefficient from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map at the boundary. For dimensions \(d\geq 3\) a uniqueness proof is sketched. Besides, a discrete version on networks is considered. The main value of the paper lies in its instructive rigour. It introduces skilfully into the mathematics of an important class of applicable inverse problems.
