Let \(K\) be an algebraically closed field of characteristic \(p\neq 0\), and let \(G\) be a finite group. A block \(B\) of the group algebra \(KG\) has tame representation type if and only if \(p=2\) and the defect groups of \(B\) are dihedral, semidihedral or generalized quaternion. In this case the Morita equivalence type of \(B\) is known as a quiver with relations, by the work of \textit{K. Erdmann} [Blocks of tame representation type and related algebras, Lect. Notes Math. 1428 (1990; Zbl 0696.20001)]. Based on this, the author classifies the corresponding blocks up to derived equivalence. (A special case had been done before by \textit{M. Linckelmann} [J. Algebra 164, No. 1, 244-255 (1994; Zbl 0805.20008)].) It turns out that, for a fixed defect group, there is just one derived equivalence class of tame blocks with three simple modules.
